Why do I call the images on this page "creative"? The accepted definition today among camera clubs is: to be considered for the "creative" category, an image should display a "departure from reality". Most photo editing software today contains filters that impart a different "look" to the photograph. Whether that results in a "departure from reality" is pretty subjective.
Some of the images below have been manipulated using the popular Topaz Studio software filters (the Squash and Apples image, for example). Another effect that I use often is the Photoshop software "Paint" effect (the Statue in Rome, Italy, for example). I'll often apply this filter multiple times to exaggerate the effect. Sometimes I'll apply filter effects from two or more software programs on the same image for a completely different effect.
